The charges of TAVR valve cost in India varies a lot. The cost of the entire TAVR surgery in India is estimated to be 18 to 20 lakhs. The mere cost of the TAVR device which is mostly imported costs around Rs 10 to 12 lakhs. As a result, the overall TAVR surgery cost in India increases. However, with the recently approval and availability of the first indigenous TAVR valve Myval, the cost of the valve can be reduced to half as compared to the Western counterparts. Also, the cost for the acute implantation hospital stay is nearly similar for both SAVR and TAVR, where cost of SAVR is driven by post-operative care. The latter cost may vary with the type of hospital as it is based on the type of services offered at the hospital. So, all in all, after taking into consideration the cost of the TAVR device, the type of hospital and post-surgical care charges too play a big role in deciding the overall cost of TAVR surgery in India .
